No work is small, as every small thing can create havoc in ones life. Therefore, start appreciating more than ever the essence and potency of even small things, says Dr Kapil Kakar
In ones everyday life, often it happens when one has been assigned a duty or delegated work which looks rather small and inconsequential one tends to mentally relax thinking that it would be executed on its own and ones involvement in the work won’t be required thereafter. However, when the work come backs, staring at ones face as if telling that it cannot be done without ones serious involvement, most of us may throw our hands in despair as if exclaiming ‘nothing around can move without me’, one blames others which in turn leads to dissatisfaction and creates disharmony all around.
• Don’t take it for granted: Never take it for granted that the work has come to its logical conclusion and it would be completed without your any further involvement. Therefore, instead of blaming the unpredicted results, one needs to blame ones forgone conclusion about them.
• Avoid leaving it till the last moment: Since the work is already labeled as small, one tends to strongly feel that it can be done at some unimportant time and hence the priority for the same is lowest. One needs to appreciate that such innocuous looking work gives the most anxiety and stress to self.
• Be ready: One needs to be ready to face and execute the thing on his own. You need to be mentally prepared, if you are required for that petty work, blame yourself and not the person to whom the work was delegated. And, if he successfully does it, complement him and yourself for choosing the right person.
• Contemplate: Ask yourself, if this work was not to be executed will it affect you in any manner? Imagine how it will affect your daily life and schedule. If it can affect your daily life, it truly means that the work was not petty, trivial or inconsequential as one has believed it to be so far. Indeed, no work is small as every small thing can create havoc in ones life. Therefore, start appreciating more than ever the essence and potency of even small things.
